Red Tower

Red Tower, a unique example of 3rd century Medieval Mediterranean defensive structures; It was built by the Seljuk ruler Alaaddin Keykubat I, by the builder Ebu Ali Reha el Kettani from Aleppo, in order to protect the port, shipyard and Alanya Castle against attacks from the sea.
Red Tower; It has attracted attention with its magnificent appearance in the past as well as today and has taken its place in many books. Evliya Çelebi, one of the 17th century travelers; He states that Alanya Castle has a solid octagonal tower on the sea side, that this tower held 2000 people during the siege, and that the second castle guard sitting here had 40 soldiers.
Since the building was built on a bedrock on a sloping land, its height is 33 m in the east direction and 3 m in the west direction. Regularly cut and mounted rectangular limestone was used in the lower body walls, classical column bodies were used as spolia material, and red brick was used in the upper sections.

Alanya Archeology Museum

The museum, which has 14 indoor and one open exhibition halls, was opened in 1967 with artifacts from the Bronze Age, Urartian, Phrygian and Lydian periods brought from the Ankara Anatolian Civilizations Museum. The most important work of the museum is MSM Ö.2. It is a bronze cast Herakles statue dating back to the 16th century. Alanya Museum has a rich collection of ash boxes and coins, as well as bronze, marble, terracotta, glass and mosaic finds from the Archaic, classical, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods. Islamic Works from the Turkish-Seljuk and Ottoman periods have an important place.

Cleopatra Beach

It is on the coast in front of Damlataş Cave, in the west of the historical peninsula. This is the Blue Flag. The beach leans back to the foothills of the peninsula. This natural beach, which resembles a pool surrounded by rocks, is famous for the fact that Egyptian Queen Cleopatra and Roman Emperor Antony swam here. The small bay of the beach, which extends towards the peninsula and consists of large stones, is called Cleopatra. The feature of Cleopatra Bay is the clarity of its water. Dim Stream and Dim Cave

It is on the slopes of Cebel-i Reis Mountain, 12 kilometers east of Alanya. The cave is 232 meters above sea level. The cave, opened in 1998, is the second largest cave in Turkey opened to visitors. It is estimated to be one million years old. The cave proceeds from two separate branches on the mountain, one of which is 50 meters long and the other 360 meters. At the bottom of the cave there is a small lake consisting of stalactites and stalagmites. The environment inside the cave, where you can climb up and down the stairs, resembles fantasy movie decorations. After the cave tour, you can go down the hillside and go to the Dim Stream valley below. Likewise, it is possible to climb into the cave from the picnic areas by the dim stream. The panoramic view of Alanya Castle can be seen from the slope where the kava is located.

Sapadere Canyon

It is located in the village of Sapadere, in the east of Alanya district. Canyon Sapadere is 750 meters long and approximately 400 meters high. The Canyon has been transformed into a tourist area worth seeing, with investments such as the walking path with steel supports built on the Canyon at the exit point of the Sapadere Stream, the recreation area built at the entrance of the Canyon and the countryside casino. Sapadere Canyon, which has become a frequent destination for those who want to get rid of the summer heat of Alanya and cool off a little, is a natural wonder worth seeing. While going to Sapadere Canyon, you should not return without seeing the water mill and silk weaving workshop in Sapadere Village. Alara Khan

Located on the banks of the Alara Stream, Alara Han is 800 meters from Alara Castle. The 2000 square meter Inn, made entirely of cut stone, was built in 1231. While Alaaddin Keykubat defined himself as the sultan of the lands that own the Arab and Persian countries and two seas in the inscriptions in Alanya, he received the title of "conqueror of Greek, Damascus, Armenian and Frankish lands" in the inscription in Alara Han.

Alanya Observation Terrace

The observation terrace parking area organized by Alanya Municipality is 650 meters above the sea. Transportation is convenient and easy via asphalt road. It is a beautiful park, picnic and recreation area where you can watch Alanya from a wide angle from a bird's eye view.

There is a signed entrance on Keykubat Boulevard (Antalya-Mersin highway) in Alanya. If you cross the street immediately after returning to the road, turn right from the old road (Highland Road) and proceed 3 km from the new road, you will reach the observation decks.

There are seating areas, picnic tables, buffets and tea gardens in the observation terrace area. Morning breakfast is very popular in this area.

Damlataş Cave

Damlataş Cave was discovered in 1948 during the opening of a quarry for stone to be used in the construction of the port. The cave is located on the western shore of the historical Alanya Castle. There is a 50-meter passage at the entrance of the cave. After a 15 meter high passage, a cylindrical area is reached. From here it goes down to the bottom of the cave. The cave is named because of the drops of water that continue to drip from the stalactites. In addition to its fascinating beauty, the cave is also famous for its air that is good for asthma sufferers. There are patients who sit in the cave for a certain period of time under the supervision of a doctor and undergo a course of treatment for 21 days. The atmosphere of the cave does not change in summer or winter; temperature is 22 degrees Celsius, humidity is 95 percent, constant pressure is 760 mm. The air of the cave contains 71 percent nitrogen, 20.5 percent oxygen, 2.5 percent carbon dioxide and some radioactivity and ions.
It is the first cave opened to tourism in Turkey.

Syedra Ancient City

Roman Emperor Septimus Severus wrote a letter of gratitude to the city for not participating in the uprisings against the Roman Empire in the region and for standing by the empire. This letter, written on a marble block, was exhibited on the colonnaded street in the ancient city of Syedra. Today, this letter is exhibited in the Alanya Archaeological Museum. Also in the Antalya Museum, mosaics from the Roman period unearthed from the ancient city of Syedra are exhibited on the floor of the hall where the bronze Herakles statue is exhibited. The subject of these mosaics is the scene of Hylas' abduction by the fairies in mythology.
